is JR-EAST Rail Pass? JR東日本パスとは？
The JR-EAST Pass is an
economical and flexible rail pass to travel around Eastern Japan. It
is valid for travel on all the 72 railway lines of JR East;
Shinkansen Super Express Lines & 67 Conbentional Lines. The
JR-EAST Pass comes in several variations to meet your itinerary and
flexibility: available as a 5-day, a 10-day, and a flexible
4-day.
Who is
eligible for JR-EAST Rail Pass? JR東日本パスのご利用資格
JR-EAST Rail Pass ia available to
travelers entering Japan on a non-Japanese Passport with Temporary
Visitor" entry status.
 
It is very
important to note that Japanese passport holder cannot use JR-EAST Rail
Pass;
they can only use the standard Japan Rail Pass if they
meet the overseas residence requirements.

You must purchase an
Exchange Order from an authorized sales office or agent before you
come to Japan. After you arrive in Japan, you turn in the Exchange
Order to receive your JR-EAST Rail Pass at an applicable JR station
that has a JR-EAST Rail Pass exchange office.
